What are Ethoxilated?

Ethoxylated Fatty Acid is the ester of fatty acid and CH3-CH2-O-(CH2CH2-O-) nH where n is any number between zero and a couple of hundred. The polyether is generally synthesized from ethylene oxide via ring opening polymerization. While there should be a distinction between the ethyl ester of a fatty acid and the polyether’s, in practice this distinction is seldom made. Hence the mono alcohol is really the only “true” ethoxylation (i.e. n=0).
